Amazon Doesn’t Send OTP code
If you’re trying to log into your Amazon Seller Central account but aren’t receiving the OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS, don’t panic. This is a common issue that can happen due to network issues, incorrect phone numbers, or Amazon’s security protocols. Fortunately, there’s a simple solution: switching to an authenticator app for OTP generation. Follow the steps below to regain access to your account without relying on SMS codes.
Step 1: Go to Amazon’s Website
Head over to Amazon.com (or the version specific to your country). Do not visit sellercentral.com—make sure you’re on the main Amazon website.
Step 2: Navigate to Your Account Settings
- Click on Account & Lists in the top-right corner.
- Select Your Account from the dropdown menu.
- Click on Login & Security (you may be prompted to enter your password again for security verification).
Step 3: Manage Two-Step Verification Settings
- Locate the Two-Step Verification (2SV) section.
- Click on the Manage button next to it.
Step 4: Set Up an Authenticator App
Since SMS delivery can be unreliable, switching to an authenticator app ensures you always receive your OTPs instantly.
- Under the Preferred method section, click on Add new app.
- If you haven’t already, download an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy on your phone.
Step 5: Link the Authenticator App to Your Amazon Account
- Open the authenticator app on your phone.
- Use the app’s Scan QR Code feature to scan the QR code displayed on Amazon’s website.
- The app will generate a new OTP code.
- Enter the OTP code from the authenticator app into Amazon’s verification field.
- Click Verify OTP and Continue.
That’s It!
You’re all set! Now, whenever you log in, instead of waiting for an SMS that might not arrive, you can simply open your authenticator app and use the OTP code displayed there.
By making this change, you’ll avoid frustrating delays and ensure secure, seamless access to your Amazon account.
If you still encounter issues, you may need to contact Amazon’s customer support for further assistance. But in most cases, switching to an authenticator app solves the problem instantly.
Stay secure and happy selling!
